Operation Support:
Make Christmas socks for the armed forces
We are proud to team up with this fantastic program which brings holiday cheer
to our troops. This national program began with one woman in Clinton who
wanted to make a difference. Through operation support gifts of Christmas
stockings are sent overseas to the men and women serving our country in the
armed forces.
We have the pattern available for this super simple stocking and will be
collecting Christmas stockings here at the shop all year long. In 2008 we were
able to collect 640 stockings and this year we hope to make it 700!
This is a great way to use up odds and ends of fabric; dig out those old
Christmas fabrics, patriotic fabrics, “guy” fabrics, or novelty prints that
you just aren’t going to use in your quilts anymore. Make room for new
fabrics, and help support a good cause!
This is just a reminder to help keep this program in mind, we will not be
having a work day at the shop, you can sew at home at your convenience and
drop off finished stockings.

Project Linus:
Join together to make quilts for those in need

Project Linus is a wonderful program designed to bring gifts of comfort and
love to those in need. Once a month we host a sewing day to make quilts. These
quilts are distributed locally to hospitals, police and fire departments, and
women's shelters to be given to women and children in our area that stand in
need. The quilts bring not only warmth, but also the knowledge that someone
cares and wants to help.
Can't stop in to sew? We have kits available to take home and work on at yur
convenience. Don't Quilt? Knit and crocheted afghans are also accepted. No
time to make anything? Donations of fabrics anb batting are a great way to
clean up your work room and help out a great cause!
Join us on the following dates from 10:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. or stop by to
pick up a kit to work on at home:
